  Down from colder northern European climates is considered superior because it tends to be more robust. Fill power is a measure of down’s ability to ‘puff up’. The ‘puffier’ the comforter, the better it retains warmth. Why is this important to me? When you use very high quality down, you actually need less down to achieve the same thermal warmth as with cheaper varieties. Less down, means less weight on your body. Less weight means a more comfortable comforter.
• 354-thread-count, 100% Cotton Sateen comforter shell made by Kolb & Schule, one of Europe’s best weavers – and this is their best comforter ticking! Why is this important to me? The high thread count combined with the special SanProCare finish permits superior moisture evaporation, allowing the comforter to “breath”, which helps prevent the sweaty clamminess often experienced with inferior quilts.
• Large baffled boxes allow for maximum down lofting. Baffle construction means the sewing needle never passes directly from the top through to the bottom of the comforter shell. It also prevents the down from shifting to the foot or sides while the comforter is draped over the bed. Finally, large baffle boxes allow the down to expand to its maximum, enhancing the down’s ability to retain heat. Why is this important to me?
